The Cricut

Has anyone heard of this fantastic machine? I am getting ready for a retreat that I will be attending in about a week in which I will be playing and actually working on my pictures. LOL!!!! One must have fun, it can't be all work and no play.

Anyhow, this is one of the items that they have been talking about and promoting alot. This fantastic portable machine is a die-cut machine from ProvoCraft that lets you cut shapes, letters & phrases in minutes and in a variety of sizes. It uses a cartridge and there is no need for a computer. You can create borders and letters, up to 5 1/2" and 12" long. It's Scrapbooking at it's Best!!!

I'm thinking I have to have this little contraption, I mean it simply is great and they have several cartridges that are available with different font styles that are just awesome!

Go check it out! www.cricut.com and view the video they have online.

Dancing with the Stars

Gosh were you not surprised at the elimination last night? I certainly was, I really thought that the final two would have been Staci & Toni and the winners of course Drew & Cheryl. But not for once did I think that Jerri & Anna would have made it all the way to the final two. I mean they were good but I thought that Staci & Toni were awesome. I was so happy that Drew & Cheryl won the competition, they not only danced well, but their performances were always filled with such entertainment and stunts. They were absolutely incredible!!

I really have taken a liking to this whole ballroom dancing. It is just so elegant and classy, not to mention so very sexy! I really believe this show has shed a fresh new light on this type of dance that was once so popular. I think many people including the young are taking another look at what real dancing is about.

Ballroom dancing has received such attention now a days ( a great part because of the "Dancing with the Stars show) that even Antonio Banderas is starring in a new movie called "Take the Lead" , that has incorporated Ballroom Dancing as part of the focal point of the movie. This movie is going to be awesome, it is actually based on a true story of High School students that are considered to be "school rejects" and Antonio Banderas is the teacher that is running the detention for these students. Of course in every detention there is work to do and he feels that he can make a difference with these students by teaching them none other than Ballroom dancing!

Building a House

Ok, Ok! I am a terrible blogger, I haven't blogged for days now! I have honestly been thinking about it though, LOL!!! Between me being sick and everyone else getting sick I have been one busy mommy! :)

So just to fill you in, we have been in the process of building a house now for about a year. Actual building did not start until last October but the paper work and selections and official contract started back in May.

Building a house.........Gosh that is no easy task! There is paper work, people asking you questions about everything you can think of, decision making on colors & styles, more questions to answer, just when you think you have it all figured out.....you have to go searching for more answers to other questions you didn't think of first only now your too far down in the process to bail out, LOL!!

It took us 12 years to finally decide ok, we no longer fit in our current home and it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Wow, 12 years of memories in our current house, we certainly will miss this place. This was our very 1st Official house that we purchased here in Florida.

I wanted to share some of the photos of the building process of our new home. Hopefully, in the not so distant future we can have one BIG HAPPY SCRAPPIN PARTY!!! Yippee! I would love to have that happen. Ok! But let me move in first......we are actually about 7 weeks away from that happening but here goes some of the last photos I took, I will be taking some more photos tomorrow hopefully and sharing those with you later on. But here's what I have so far........

Remembering

Well I managed to see the Oprah show today and was touched by the topic : "The Katrina Stories No One is Telling". Unbelievable that this part of our country is still under so much suffering and totally seems to have been forgotten. At least this is the way that they are feeling FORGOTTEN. I don't like to start a post with such a grim topic, but in reality with all that we have and all that we enjoy out of life we must not forget that among us we have fellow americans that are suffering in our own soil with little or nothing at all. Even after 6 months, some are still living in tents, having to face eviction from the hotel rooms that once provided them shelter, people that are still missing and have never been found, children that are not allowed to play outside due to contamination that has NEVER been cleaned up. We must not forget them and see what we CAN DO as americans to help them. If you were not able to view the show, log on to www.oprah.com and view some of the photos and the coverage that was done on this sad reality.

As for my part of the world, I am currently getting rid of this cold that was tormenting me and therefore based on what I saw today I guess I really can't and shouldn't complain. I am truly blessed is all I can say.

The start of a blog

Ok, so I am soooooooo NEW to this blogging world. I guess I am just going to see how I can accommodate it to my already busy life. But hey, everyone seems to have one, and everyone seems to like BLOGGING! It's the new Journal of the 21st Century!

Well, let see what can I BLOG about? I have been sick for the past few days, totally out of my element. My dear husband has had to take care of me and the kids for the past few days. Thank you honey! :) Other than that, all is normal, my 18 year old is working towards his college scholarships and SAT's, and graduation and oh dear, lots going on with that whole thing. My 15 year old has also been under the weather these past few days, with a terrible cold and throat ache and YUCK!!! My 4 year old has been his usual self even though he too is battling a cold. So there is not much to BLOG about that is fun and interesting lately! Hopefully I will have better news tomorrow......................... :)
